Title: Executive Project Director
The Project Executive is responsible for all matters pertaining to the project and the execution of that project in accordance with the contract and the project's HSSE, quality, quantities, schedule and financial goals.
Responsible for Management and Execution of all phases of the most complex Mega projects (in excess of $5Billion).
Responsible for Strategic Leadership of the Project (or pursuit)
Represents Consortium (where McDermott is the lead) and Represents McDermott’s interests in the Consortium
Represents Consortium/McDermott in front of the Client and is responsible for client satisfaction
Has bottom line responsibility for all aspects of the performance of the project (technical, schedule, costs, quality and safety)
Provides strategic leadership for the project team
Ensures projects compliance with BMS policies and legal requirements
Responsible for delivering the project at as-sold GP or better and responsible for accurate forecasting.
Responsible for managing project risks and opportunities
Establishing a high-performance safety culture
Responsible for the elevation of critical issues as and when required for resolution
May be assigned to lead a bid team, define capture strategy, and lead technical & commercial bid efforts in conjunction with Proposal & Estimating department
Responsible for Management of all phases of complex Mega projects
Delivering the Project in accordance with the approved budget and baseline schedule
Ensuring the Project activities adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System
Ensuring the Project activities adhere to the requirements of the HSE Management System
Responsible for the development, approval and implementation of Project Execution Plan
Oversees the planning and resource allocation of personnel throughout the project
Define role, responsibilities and authorities for reportees
Effectively delegates authority and responsibility
Ensures that the Main Contract and Subcontracts are correctly administered, including agreement to the variations to the scope of work
Establish & maintain relationships with the Client & Subcontractors
Drives the resolution of issues or conflicts between departments or with the Client
Monitors and manages the project risk profile with the assistance of relevant departments.
Ensure compliance with the contract in all aspects
Prepares and issues reports to the Client in accordance with contract requirements
Liaises with the Client and key subcontractors as required
Arranges and attends meetings with the Client and subcontractors as required.
Ensures that all written documentation required under the contract is prepared and submitted on time and in accordance with contract requirements
Ensures that all QA and HSE policies and practices are properly administered and executed
Ensures that all personnel training requirements are met
Ensures that the Contract is properly administered, especially protection of our contractual rights, and maximization of the opportunities, including negotiation of variations to the scope of work.
Oversees the management of change
Ensures robust decision making process is utilized
Overseeing contingency planning and lessons learnt for the Engineering, Fabrication, Construction and Installation scope
Represents McDermott in all meetings
Ensures that the close out activities are properly performed, and documents submitted as required by the contract and McDermott Close out Procedure
Delivers in accordance with McDermott values of Integrity, One Team, Go Beyond, Well-Being and Commitment
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject. MBA or Post Graduate Management qualification preferred.
Minimum 20 years project management experience
Experience in managing mega lump sum EPC projects
International experience leading multi-cultural organizations
Proven track record in successful leadership of lump sum EPC projects in excess of $2billion) a pre-requisite
Experience leading complex consortium / JV arrangements
Experience on Construction phase of Mega projects a pre-requisite
Experience with modular fabrication an advantage
Experience with LNG project deliver across all phases of the project
Extensive technical knowledge and leadership experience of all aspects of EPC project delivery including engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, completions, commissioning, project controls and contract management
Effective communicator with client, consortium / JV partners, executive management, project team, and vendors Experienced at presenting to Executive management and at board level
Proven commercial acumen and skilled negotiator
Candidate needs to confirm their ability to mobilize to site during the construction phase of an EPC contract, potentially on a single status basis
