Job Overview:

The role is for Principal Structural Engineer with responsibility for structural design and analysis for Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG, and Renewables Industry projects including deliverables such as structures, piperacks, modules, foundations, etc. The work includes conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support. The successful candidate is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts, and can be assigned as the civil / structural lead on a project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Capable of leading a civil / structural project team

  • Prepare philosophies, basis of design, and specifications

  • Interface with geotechnical engineers and implement geotechnical recommendations

  • Provide input in support of permitting efforts

  • Prepare material requisition and subcontract scope of work

  • Perform technical bid evaluation and supplier document review

  • Provide engineering manhour and quantity estimates

  • Coordinate with supporting offices

  • Prepare and check calculations

  • Identify potential changes, and track engineering quantities against budget

  • Provide schedule and progress updates

  • Support construction

  • Mentor junior engineers

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Minimum 15 years civil / structural engineering experience

  • Minimum 10 years civil / structural engineering experience on EPC projects in the oil & gas industry

  • Minimum 5 years civil / structural engineering experience in lead roles

  • Knowledge of civil / structural engineering codes and standards

  • Proficient in detail civil / structural engineering and design work procedures and processes

  • Proficient in civil / structural analysis software

  • Strong communication skill and professional ethics to interface with clients and project team

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Position is primarily for onshore civil / structural lead type roles

  • Large module experience is a benefit

  • Field and fabrication / module yard experience is a benefit
