Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the HSES performance of all disciplines and subcontractors is in accordance with contractual HSES commitments.

  • Performs duties in accordance with the integrated HSES activities plan.

  • Liaising with client and contractor site HSES representatives.

  • Establishing effective working relationships with line supervisors and ensures that safe working practices are adhered to

  • Maintaining a visible presence at worksites to ensure effective HSES management is in place.

  • Assisting in the interpretation of compliance monitoring procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Overseeing the administration and compliance of JRM's Permit-To-Work system.

  • Providing assistance to line supervisors for risk management activities, including hazard identification and task risk assessments.

  • Assisting and participating in emergency response drills; including developing scenarios, preparation of reports and inspection of the equipment.

  • Conducting incident investigations and completes reports.

  • Attending HSES committee and project progress meetings.

  • Ensuring that regular workplace surveys are conducted and recommendations are implemented.

  • Conducting HSES trainings as requested by the Training Department.

  • Conducting periodic walkthroughs and inspections at worksite and other designated locations as needed.

  • Ensuring HSES equipment calibrations are maintained.

  • Participating in HSES audits.

  • Providing assistance in reviews and revisions to HSES project plans and procedures.

  • Maintaining the HSES central action tracking register at the worksite and follows up with supervisors on closing action items.

  • Leading and mentoring HSES officer{s) and trainees.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Knowledge and experience in offshore construction industry and DP vessel experience with 5 years' experience in a similar role

  • High school graduate

  • Sound knowledge of statutory HSES regulations and marine industry standards

  • Experience teaching company specific safety principals and procedures to groups and individuals. Must be fully conversant in adult learning theories and have train the trainer certification or equivalent experience

  • Training in CSE&R, Gas Testing, PTW, HIT and BBSM programs

  • Ability to lead teams with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 Standards and thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Standards

  • Valid Offshore Medical

  • BOSIET Training or Equivalent {OPITO approved)

  • Fluent both in spoken and written English
