Title: Welding Quality Engineer
- Develops and carries out weld quality control programs to meet established quality standards.
Monitors welding quality assurance activities to determine conformance with corporate policy and procedures.
Conducts internal audits and monthly surveillance to measure performance; makes appropriate recommendations for corrective actions and improvements as necessary.
Calls to the attention of management any out of control operation and suggests proper
corrective action. Stops any operation that is not corrected after such recommendations.
Serves as the focal point for the reporting and disposition of non-conformances; verifies the completion of corrective action.
Coordinates the schedules for measurement system checks, calibrations, and other checking procedures.
Implements and monitors a system for quality control sample measurement, advises in the selection of suitable samples and/or prepares samples as delegated by management. Evaluates data quality through the use of appropriate statistical techniques; interprets quality control data through the use of control charts.
Maintains records of pertinent performance information. A
dvises and trains staff in matters of quality assurance.
Participates in proposal writing, developing quality plans, and reviews the quality assurance
aspects of project plans. Seeks and evaluates new ideas and current developments in the field of quality and recommends how to apply it.
Coordinates and/or conducts quality problem investigations to include client complaints.
Serves as a quality assurance representative for mandated QA programs.
Prepares monthly reports to management indicating the effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
Conducts subcontractor pre-qualification audits. Fulfills supervisory duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Resource Manager.
Assists the project PBA in receipt inspections of materials that are required to meet contract specifications.
