Job Overview:
The Senior Field Engineer prepares for and executes offshore pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning operations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work with the Operations Engineer to develop pre-com execution methodologies for offshore projects
Provide input for the selection of the required pre-com and marine
Provide key inputs for engineering and planning to be developed
Detailed reviewing of internal and external deliverables (drawings, reports, procedures, risk assessments, scopes of work, subcontracts)
Define and order equipment and installation aids
Specify and identify suitable pre-com spreads and vessels
Prepare subcontractor scopes of works followed by the award and execution of the subcontract
Prepare pre-com procedures
Prepare and perform construct abilities and operational risk assessments
Mobilize pre-com equipment and vessels to execute work scopes
Arrange the testing and load-out of pre-com equipment and installation aids
Coordinate the execution of offshore pre-com work scopes
Coordinate the demobilization of the pre-com equipment, marine spread, and the off-hire of subcontract equipment
Work at the site and offshore as required by the project
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
7+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry working for major Contractors
Experience in managing a team of more than 2 Engineers
General experience in all shallow and deepwater water installation operations
Rigid & flexible pipeline pre-commissioning experience - execution of a minimum of 4 projects
Umbilical pre-commissioning and controls/start-up experience - execution of a minimum of 4 projects
Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCI / T&I projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control, and quality control management
Familiar with international codes and standards
Good communication, coordination, and organizing skills the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and stakeholders
Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and integrity
Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties
Delivery orientated. Able to manage time and meet deadlines
