Job Overview:

The Senior Principal Contract Mgmt Spec is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Contract Mgmt Spec is considered a specialist in the field of Contracts Management, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Project Controls Function.

The Senior Principal Contract Mgmt Spec impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Contract Mgmt Spec role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Contracts Management challenges.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships on prime contract issues

  • Flow downs from the prime contract to subcontracts and purchase orders

  • Client correspondence, including both technical and commercial issues

  • Manage change, including change orders rights, and obligations

  • Insurance and insurance claims management

  • Permit requirements, both in obtaining and ensuring compliance, including local, state Federal requirements, and Letter of credit requirements

  • Risk management, including risks registers and warranty obligations

  • Report to both the project directorate and any joint venture/consortium partners on both technical and commercial issues

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in contract management field experience

  • Working experience preferably in Offshore, Subsea, or Onshore Oil and Gas related projects

  • Joint Venture or consortium project execution

  • Direct reporting to a project director or executive-level

  • Contractual and commercial knowledge to ensure project compliance
